We've had two clients report over this weekend that their Sonos systems are playing back a strange tone/noise randomly? Anyone else out there hearing this strange noise? The date of the occurrence was on Sat./Sun. May 12th-13th - 2018.
Power over Ethernet is great for lower powered equipment installed in remote locations. Perfect for IP cameras, WiFi hotspots, etc but I got to thinking, couldn't a Play 1 POE be made? The current standard "802.11at" POE+ currently supports 25.5W of power which I believe is enough to power a Play 1 even at full volume? Whilst a POE version wouldn't appeal to everyone, the same body could be used but in removing the AC/DC converter it could be made lighter and potentially cheaper? I have ethernet running all around my home and could make great use of POE Play 1, there are a few places I'd love to put some Play 1 but it would mean running ugly power leads or paying a high premium for an electrician to run hidden power cabling to new ugly sockets. The benefit of CAT 5 is that pretty much anybody can buy and install it and since POE is low voltage most countries don't require a qualified electrician to install. You've also go the benefit that it's connected to ethernet rather tha
Hey, So i'm getting a playbar soon and i want to connect my existing and new Play1's to the playbar. From reading online it would appear i can connect two providing i use a bridge however im keen to know if I can connect more than the two and if so is it the same process? Also, can i connect Play 3 or 5's to my playbar. thinking of buying some with the playbar and unsure if i should stay with P1's Thanks
I am a novice user - in fact I must shamefacedly admit I had never even heard of Sonos till I went shopping for a system to allow me to wirelessly listen to music from my analogue hi-fi system in other rooms. On the advice of the salesperson I ended up with a Connect and two Ones. I have set up the Ones (Standard setup) on my home wi-fi. But I can't find any documentation about the most basic controls on the One. Nothing in the documentation that came in the box, nothing on the Android app, nothing on the Support page of the website (which is where one usually finds product manuals). Is there any? My first few questions (I fear there will be more) are * What are the touch controls on top of the One? I guess the one in the middle is a play/pause button, but what are the ones with four dots? * What is the big button on the back for? When I push it the green LED on top turns red and starts to flash for a while, but so what? * Is there a list of colours and patterns for the LED o
Hello I just purchased & installed a Play 3 (like it very much) my question: when not i use, is it beneficial to disconnect the power AC ? would that prolong the life of the amp ? The bridge is also "ON" constantly. I prefer not to leave my components on all the time. What is your opinion ?
I have recently started having an issue where some tracks will not play with the error "track not encoded correctly". I have moved my Sonos Bridge away from my wireless router to see if this helps, and although response times are a lot quicker I am still unable to play some music. I have generated a diagnostic report - 4066834. The issue only seems to have started when I installed a new router, so it is very possible that this is causing interference due to the signal being better. My bridge is hard-wired to the router so I have probably moved it as far as I am able. Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I got my 2 Play1's and they're awesome . I read some of the threads on what stand to get and it seemed that the Omnimount Gemini 1 was one way to go ... Well , I got them ...and they're NOT the way to go .... they definitely work but the things are so flimsy that it would seem a mild breeze would blow them over. In addition to that, there is no way to hide the cables so I'm thinking of just trashing these things and starting over. Has anyone found a stand that they are really happy with? ?
Just bought the Sonos Play One and I'm looking to purchase a Playbar to hook all 3 speakers (the Playbar and 2 ones) with my TV. I want to make sure that this combination is supported. The only ones I see available for TV sound mention the older Play 1s paired with a Playbar AND subwoofer. My desired configuration are the pair of Sonos Play Ones with the Playbar (no subwoofer as I have sound constraints from neighbors).
I hope an update is coming because I’m over going to use my roam and it’s dead. Out of the five times I’ve wanted to use it I have only been able to use it once. I have to leave it on the charger when not in use otherwise it will be dead when I go to use it. When it’s on the charger and it gets to 100% there is no way to turn it off. If I hold the power button for five seconds it turns off but within a few seconds it turns itself back on again. If they don’t say a fix is coming within a week sadly it’s going back.
Hi All, I have just bought an Onkyo TX-NR626 7.2-Channel Network Audio/Video Receiver (Black) @ Amazon.com and I am planning to buy Sonos system to have it all configured in my apartment, but I am not sure If this would be possible. Am I able to have my receiver playing all my devices and sound been handled by Sonos Connect and its different types of wireless speakers? If I have my Xbox One been used with my receiver, does the sound plays @ the speakers available within Sonos' network created? Let me know how should I proceed. Rgds Marcelo
I am looking at getting the optimum response from my sub and rather than moving the beast around unnecessary, I would like your opinion on room placement! Currently I have the sub placed in position 1 on the picture, underneath my dinning room oak bench facing into the room. I am considering position 2 and 3, primarily so that the sound of the bass is not being blocked by the table. Obviously however, these positions would place the sub some way from the middle of my play 1s. It might be worth nothing that the area immediately in front of the sub under the bench is open. Is my setup okay as it is or can it be further improved? It also might be mentioning that I have young, inquisitive children who might think the growl of the sub means it is hungry and needs feeding....
I appreciate that the Sonos One SLs are not originally designed to be computer speakers but is there a way that I can use them that way? My laptop recognises these speakers under “Bluetooth & other devices > Wireless display & docks" but I cannot seem to get the speakers recognised as audio devices to be able to connect to them. However, there is no issue accessing the speakers when playing through Spotify. Why is that? Is there a workaround? I am a Windows 10 user on a Surface Pro 5 if that helps.
I want to be ale to take my Sonos Play 1 somewhere and have instant good sound, in a hotel or a friend's home. Just plug the Sonos to the wall and use my phone to publish a Wifi network, which Sonos connects to and plays. I realize that service quality depends on how good my data feed is to my phone, but it should be good enough, otherwise it seems its just a software job to implement it..
I am unable to browse music with spotify on my sonos. Tried the usual reset actions: reset modem connection, reset bridge, remove and re-authorize spotify account. Nothing helps. In the past resetting would make a difference. Actually quite amazed how unstable the sonos / spotify integration is. Please how a look at my issue. Diagnostic support ticket: 3910512
