What fixed for me was going to settings > wifi > wifi assistant then turn on dual wifi acceleration. Connect to the same secondary network as your primary network. Hope this helps as even with oxygen os 13.1 the issue wasn't fixed.

I've recently switched to a OnePlus 11 and have experienced the issue with my Sonos devices not appearing on Spotify.

However Djhillyd's solution seems to have worked for me.

Thanks dude, you've saved me the pain of having to use Spotify via the Sonos app. 🙂🙂

I'll chime in on this.

The culprit in my home is 2.4ghz / 5ghz network sub networking.

Sonos One Sl

Samsung galaxy s23 ultra

Asus router

If I turn off 5ghz WiFi the speakers show up.

Anyone find a permanent solution to this yet?

I found the issue in a galaxy s23. But something similar applies for other android devices. You should change in the settings of the wireless network to use the real Mac address of your device on that network. (Settings=>Wifi settings=> WiFi config => you must change Mac random to use Mac of the device.) just change on that network.

Thank you! I recently upgraded my S21 ultra to an S24 ultra and could not figure out this issue. This solved it for me

What wifi router do you have? Sounds like its a mesh system that doesn’t correctly handle random MAC addresses when your phone switches between mesh points (or frequencies).

Not the case for me. At least in my personal apartment that wasn't the case. I'm running a single Verizon FiOS router to cover a 700 square ft apartment. My S21 ultra was opened side by side with my S24 ultra and the S21 could see it while the S24 couldn't.

My router does broadcast 2.4, 5, and 6ghz(though 6 is turned off) but I've never had any issues before with any other device.

Anyone come up w a permanent solution for this issue yet? Changing my new Samsung Galaxy s24's  Mac adres from dynamic to static only worked for a short while, but the issue is back once again. Definitely something to do w the new phone, as I never had issues before on a Samsung Galaxy 20 or 22 @Sonos any ideas or help here people, your help would be greatly appreciated by a bunch of us here

Sadly still have issues. I have to switch Mac addresses occasionally to fix. It's not just in my personal network either.

When I start with Sonos than I see the speakers in the Spotify app. Starting with Spotify doesnt show the Sonos speakers. And if, it will disappear soon. Please share your finds here.

I notice a quirk as I switch between my 3rd party Apps and the SPOTIFY App. The SPOTIFY App does not always remember the previous device that SPOTIFY was playing through. If I ask a 3rd party App to play SPOTIFY, the connection is correctly made, but if I open the SPOTIFY App ‘cold’, SPOTIFY will play on the controller device and I must manually direct SPOTIFY to play on my SONOS or A/V system.

With respect to SONOS, SONOS simply provides a free API that music services must use if they want their service to be available to SONOS users. SONOS will test the API for gross issues and, if approved, the service will be added to the supported list. The service must maintain its own use of the API. I notice that SPOTIFY is rather stingy with its use of the SONOS API and mostly just directs SONOS to launch the SPOTIFY App and transfers SPOTIFY control to the SPOTIFY App. The SONOS controller can execute basic commands, such as PLAY, PAUSE, Volume, and a few others, but  more complicated commands must be executed by the SPOTIFY App.

As a quick test while I’m writing this, I opened the SONOS controller and attempted to “Resume” (SPOTIFY’s term) a SPOTIFY session that was paused hours ago. SONOS sent some sort of command  API command (probably a ‘Play’) and SPOTIFY struggled with this for too many seconds, first attempting to start the track that was last playing. The previous artwork was displayed, the time progress bar started advancing, but there was no audio. There seemed to be a second attempt at restarting the track, then a new track’s artwork was fetched, but still no sound, followed by a successful restart. My interpretation is that the SONOS command forced a launch of the SPOTIFY App in the background and the SPOTIFY App had not yet established communication with the SPOTIFY servers. At times I’ll notice that  SPOTIFY will similarly stumble if I directly launch the SPOTIFY App.

So far, the SPOTIFY App has always been able to show and link to my SONOS devices and the A/V receiver. Note that, depending on their age, some SONOS devices can accept Airplay 2 streams. This interaction is different and Airplay will only show compatible devices that it is aware of. While Airplay is extremely popular, I’m not familiar with all of its quirks because I use it only on a “kick the tires” basis.

On Samsung S23, I guess it's on Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi. Click on the 3 dots > Intelligent Wi-Fi.

I guess it's Setting: Switch to mobile data

I also think it’s due to Sonos their API in combination with Android 13. All my other devices (Android and Apple) are showing other speakers (including the Sonos Playbase and Play 5 in my house) in the Spotify app...

Hello, just bought this week a Sonos Arc, and I encounter the exact same issue: the Sonos Arc doesn’t show up in my Spotify app (I am in Oxygen 13.1). I rebooted the router and the Arc, and still nothing.

Can you help with this?

Many thanks

Changing the MAC address didn't work for me either. I almost can't believe it to be a router issue as well because it never happens on the Samsung Galaxy S21 of my gf, using the exact same network and speakers. So it has to be an issue on newer Samsung / Android phones but not sure if the issue sits with Samsung, Android, Sonos or Spotify.... It would be great to find a proper fix for this because rebooting my phone every time I lose my speakers is getting annoying...

I have the same issue with my ultra 23 and it is honestly making me consider changing. I honestly cant take the admin anymore.  I reset spotify. Beam not discoverable. I rest sonos. Reload beam. Sonos works with spotify. Go into spotify to listen through beam. Beam not discoverable again. I go in sono and reauthroise account. Not working. Go through all settings make sure they are ALL set to the right thing on BOTH apps. Still not working. I never had this issue on previous phones and I'm so tired of trying to fix this everytime I want to listen to music.

Phone settings? Sonos settings? Spotify settings?

Looking for them but haven't found yet

Anyone found an equivalent setting for Samsung S23s? There is no entry in settings for WiFi assistant.

Have you found where this is on an ultra 23? I can't find this setting either ?

I have same issue after upgrading to Samsung s23 ultra. Permissions all set. If I restart my phone I can see speakers but then after a whole they go. I think it's when alexa is used to connect to sonos but not 100% on that. Anyone know how to report to Spotify?

My system was working for 3 years with no issues. Now nothing works. I have 9 Sonos devices. All disappeared from Spotify app and won’t come back. I’m using iPhone. Restarted all network devices, updated software on all network devices, deleted and reinstalled Spotify app, restarted iPhone. Nothing works. All google cast devices are still working in Spotify app. All Sonos devices show up in Sonos app. This is incredibly frustrating!

I am experiencing the exact same issues on my Galaxy S23 Ultra. Sometimes the speakers show up in the Spotify app, but at other times they dissappear. I never had this issue on my old Galaxy S20 with the exact same Sonos setup. Google home and chromecast devices never disappear from the Spotify app, and casting Spotify through the Sonos app always works as well. The Sonos speakers are always showing up in the Google home app, so it's purely a Spotify issue. Restarting my phone temporarily solves this issue but then at a certain point the speakers will dissappear again.

Whats striking to me is that my girlfriend has a Samsung Galaxy S22 and she is never experiencing these issues, all our speakers always show up on her phone. This to me shows that the issue has to somehow be related to a setting on my phone, and shouldn't be related to the network / router settings. Unfortunately I've not been able to find a permanent solution for this...

Sounds like it would be. Any chance you rebooted your router while the Sonos were unplugged?

I just got Sonos speakers for the first time today and I'm having the same issue. Originally I was on a 5GHz only band but I swapped over to a 2.4 GHz band and I still can't get the speakers to show in Spotify.

This will be a deal breaker for me.

I can confirm, as the las comment said, the issue is due to the network mode. My Sonos show up under 2.4gh connection, but it disappears in 5g network.🤷

Phone settings.

Unfortunately for me, Sonos is now no longer showing as an available device. 😑

I tried sooo many things, can't get it fixed after months of trying.

I have the Oneplus 11, fully updated all apps.

I think I fixed it.

I pulled Spotify up on a tablet and the speakers were showing up there. Once I played from the tablet the S23+ picked up the new speakers.

Hi. Thanks for replying.

My Sonos app has all possible permissions, so does the Spotify app.

Is there a way of emailing support?

Same here. Sonos not showing in Spotify since I have the Samsung S23Ultra. Only way to show them is to reboot my router. Already unplugged all the Sonos products and reinstalled the app.
