It seems to be that countless people have asked for connectivity between their Echo devices and the Sonos CONTROLLER and Sonos has been slow to respond. Sure you can connect a DOT to a Connect or a Speaker "big deal" you could always do that. I have 3 Dots and a Echo. I also have Sonos through out my house and I like listening to Sonos when I go to bed, but instead find myself using my Dot and a Bluetooth speaker, because I can't control my Sonos with the Amazon Dot on my bed stand. Sonos users want voice control of their Sonos systems, I understand Sonos is working on that, but it should have been done a year ago. Get us something, now and enhance it later. "Alexa play music for meditation on my Sonos system." "Alexa set Sonos sleep timer for 30 minutes." "Alexa play my podcast on my Sonos system." etc. The Amazon Echo and Google Home are not competitors, they will be enhancers of the Sonos system. If I were in the market now, I wouldn't buy a Sonos system, because it d
Hi, I'm considering to buy a Sonos speakers, however, I didn't found out how does it play music. When I use the Sonos app in iPhone, what is the source of the music playing? Does the Sonos speaker play it directly from the internet or does it play via iPhone same as AirPlay? Do I need to have the app in iPhone running all the time or I just tap the play button and then I can close the app and the Sonos will still be playing the music/radio?
Hey All, I have an Xbox One and an Amazon FireTV hooked into ViewHD 3x1 switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U8WBOOG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) via HDMI. I have the XBOX set to Bitstream (Dolby Digital), but when I play from apps that I'm assuming aren't 5.1 (Pandora, for example), I only get audio from the Playbar and Sub. No rear speaker audio. What am I doing wrong?
My Sonos system (Bridge & Play 3) has been working flawlessly for years up until about 2 months ago. Now when I try to use my system, my phone, laptop, tablet, and home computer suddenly can't find the system. Rebooting the system does not fix this issue. Instead I have to reboot the system, then re-attach my controller devices to the bridge. The system will then work for a day or two and then this process repeats all over again.
When I navigate to a music service (apple music, plex, spotify, tunein, all of 'em!) I ge unable to browse music, there was a problem connecting to... I had been able to fix this previously by removing my firewall from the first in the list of resolvers but I'm getting same issue again now. Manually removing my IPv6 resolvers seems to fix the issue but they are last on my resolver list. Do you have an IPv6 issue Sonos or am I doing something daft? With the current discount promotion on the play:1 I was thinking about getting a couple for my bathrooms. But then I saw the magic words "or while supplies last" at http://www.sonos.com/en-au/shop/play1.html. A discount + end of production is what Apple do when they want to clear stock ahead of a revised model. Are Sonos doing the same with the Play:1 ahead of a gen2? It is three years old now although still a great design. So unless a refresh is definitely not pending I will hold off my purchase. Probably not what their marketing department intended...
I am experiencing interference with my Sonos Play 5 system (music has static, interference, or stops completely)
I recently purchases a Sonos Play 5 system, and am experiencing interference. My router/bridge is located in another room. Music will play fine for extended periods, but then suddenly there can be interference (static, skips, gaps in playing, or stopping altogether), even when other wireless devices are not in use. If I am unable to solve/address this problem, I am considering returning my Sonos Play 5
Hi there, I am new to Sonos. One of my setup is a stereo paired Play3 with Sub. Appreciate any feedbacks/views on a stereo paired Play3 orientation. 1. Is there any difference between horizontal or vertical? 2. For a vertical orientation, any difference if both speakers are placed with the Sonos logo inwards or outwards? Many thanks!
So my home system is currently set up with a wireless router downstairs and a sound system upstairs. My sound system is basically a Yamaha amplifier with various speakers and other audio visual equipment connected to it as well as a laptop with all my Itunes music on it. I can access my itunes music library on my laptop through my smartphone or ipad (via wi-fi) from anywhere around the house and also control the volume through this however to enjoy music downstairs or in the bedrooms I have to put up the volume in the living room considerably and still not giving the desired effect therefore I ask: Would it be possible to link a SONOS speaker to this type of system so that I can transmit music either directly from my amp to the wireless speakers so that wherever I place the speaker around the house it will play the same music that is playing on my sound system without me needing to raise the volume too high in the living room? Alternatively would it be possible to l
I have heard the announcements regarding Amazon. and Sonos working together in the future but I have a question concerning current components and thief abilities. Can I run a 3.5 male to male from an Amazon tap into a Sonos 5 ? I have attempted to connect both components as mentioned but cannot get the Amazon tap to operate. I can only play music via the Sonos app. I cannot even start the music on the Amazon tap then connect the line in to the Sonos 5 and hear music. It is an older series Sonos 5. I read the attached love link but it did not work. Any suggestions?? http://www.sam-mallery.com/2016/08/how-to-use-the-amazon-echo-dot-with-sonos/
Spotify just launched it's API called "Spotify Connect". Read more here: http://techcrunch.com/2013/09/02/spotify-makes-its-biggest-hardware-play-yet-with-spotify-connect-synching-music-at-home-and-beyond/ Basically this allows Spotify users to control their music directly through the Spotify App on all devices. That means: You can finally listen to music on the go, e.g. on your way home, and resume your playlist when you arrive. Also that means: SPOTIFY RADIO FOR YOUR SONOS So many great features and advantages BUT as you can read in the techcrunch article above, SONOS WILL NOT SUPPORT IT. That makes me really sad and angry and therefore I say: Build what your customers want and implement Spotify Connect now!
