I must be missing something.
Updating my sonos software should not take this much effort.
I come home from an extended time away. I open my sonos app and get this message *There are no devices on your network" go to settings to update whatever. So I go to settings and sonos finds my devices and I choose the first object it finds by serial number. I choose it and sonos tells me it is a sonos 1 SL. Ok I only have 4 of them in different rooms of my house. So I choose it and sonos does it's thing and I tell it to go ahead and play a sound. I think I hear a chime and I run to the room it is in only to be told I took to long to go up a flight of stairs. So I ask sonos to do it again. It does it's sonar bulls*** and I have to turn my phone around so it can speak clearly into the f****** microphone. It finds it and tells me to push a button. So I go get a ladder because it is up near the ceiling and press the button. Now sonos asks me for a password. I enter the password and am asked would you like to update another device. I choose yes then it is a f****** Easter egg hunt again. Now I have some devices mounted in the ceiling some in different rooms and you have to run to each of these devices to update the software, find the right button to push and god forbid something happens during the process you have to start all over. Come on sonos just ask if I would like to roll through the upgrade and one by one update every sonos device I have on the network so I can come home, grab a cup of coffee and listen to music while I read the paper.
