data usage when streaming?

I currently only have one Sonos beam & had a couple of questions regarding streaming music.

  1. Is there a rule of thumb on how much data streaming music will use per hour?
  2. When I add a satellite (or more), will they all share that one data stream, assuming they’re all synchronized to play the same thing?
  3. Are any of the streaming services better than others in terms of bit rate, or is that even an option?

thanks!

1.  Depends on the stream bitrate.

2.  Grouped rooms all use the same stream.

3. Apple Music is 256 kbps AAC if you choose that option.  Spotify is 320 kbps.  That is about 1/4 to 1/3 the bitrate of lossless.

I find my music streaming such a small part of my Internet usage I just ignore it.

Here is a helpful guide: https://www.lifewire.com/how-much-data-does-streaming-music-use-4692767
