Please Sonos, make it so Home theater enthusiasts can add a pair of era 300 speakers to the front soundstage . People who don’t want to can keep their current setup but give the option for the rest of us . It would result in more people Interested and spend more money on more speakers ! How is that bad ? 

I’m pretty sure the limits on bandwidth and/or latency are the reason.  Sonos needs to sync the surrounds/sub with the video, which requires a direct 5 GHz link from the soundbar to the surrounds/sub and there’s not much margin for error because the buffer needs to be under the threshold for lip synch to be detected by the average person (~30 ms).  I would imagine sending 4 more discrete signals (left/right front, left/right Atmos) over the already razor-thin-for-errors connection would be too taxing.  Better WiFi radios may solve this in the future, but that would require buying new hardware.
