I have an update for version 80.11.51. is there any info to what this fixes/ breaks before I update?
No
I tried to answer you several times but I keep getting “something went wrong”. I really think these a******* are sensoring me. No change except the save option is still missing. How can you have an app without the ability to save added track to your playlist. And it STILL takes you to the top of the playlist upon hitting the playlist icon in the Now Playing window.

Hi All
I am still struggling to see my whole NAS library on the Sonos app on both iPhone and iPad.
I have a large collection and in the case of prolific artists like Dave Matthews or Buckethead or Steve Roach the limit appears to be 100 entries so I cannot see albums after that! It is so annoying as I used to be able to scroll through my whole collection. These are genuine purchases which makes it more annoying.
As a Sonos fan for so many years, I still cannot believe the ineptitude displayed in the May ‘update’ I look forward to each update but looks like there is no support now.
It looks like Sonos are slowly moving towards forcing us to have streaming services that we pay for but I don’t want that, I want to play my own albums not a collection from Spotify etc.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend Sonos anymore….they broke it!
I agree. I want to play my own local music that I paid for and is saved to my local NAS drive. I don’t need to access a remote web app to do that. And I don’t subscribe to music services.
I just want to mention that I just upgraded my IOS system on my bedroom iPad to 17.7 1 (i think) and right away went into the Sonos app and it wouldn't find my Sonos system. So right away I was getting all upset at Sonos, and rightfully so, since the new app. But just be careful for anyone who does an IOS upgrade that it turns on Bluetooth and shuts your WI-FI off. And I knew that and just wasn’t thinking. So this time, Sonos is off the hook.
SonoPhone for iOS. Not perfect, but at least it works. Not going to use the Sonos app anymore.
While I've abandoned chasing the shortfalls in the new app and will be replacing my system with something else, I was wondering about something the other day. Previously, control of the speakers was done locally over wifi, correct? So as long as you had the app and wifi you could use your equipment?
The “improved" app now funnels everything through Sonos servers, doesn't it? Data collection/privacy concerns aside, if Sonos should cease to exist as a company, where does that leave operation of the equipment that requires communication with Sonos servers?
I think I saw a demo of SonoPhone a while back. I have an iPhone and three iPads, but I don’t use my iPhone for Sonos. Just my iPads. So I’m sure there must be an iPad version?
Yes. It’s called SonoPad.
So, bottom line, the speakers are “ok” , but give the app NO CONSIDERATION at all. I’m in too far to bail out at this point. As long as I can use them with other apps through airplay I’m ok. Please don’t screw up that part Sonos!!!!
When is it planned to change the new app so when I want to play a radio station, which is 95% of my usage, I have to tap the station, then it opens, then I tap the play icon to make it play.
What idiot thought this was a meaningful and useful change.
How do it stop having to do this? Have I missed a setting?
In the old app you tapped once and it played.
It frustrates me every time I do this with the new app.
Tried to use the speakers today to watch a movie, no audio coming from the speakers. Start the app, "No Product Found".... wtf, can't do s*** to use the speakers. Can't even use for the simplest function. Class action is on the plate #sonos #legal

Ever since the new apps have been rolling out, we cannot access or restart an existing queue after starting a radio station. Previously, the queue would be available to restart even after playing a radio station, such as TuneIn. The queue is still active, and we can still access the queue from the Windows app, but not from the phone app.
Ever since the latest rollout of the app in November 2024, there is a long long long lag to see the active music playing as well as the volume bar. I'm observing this in particular from a pair of Sonos Ones.
Ever since we rolled out the new phone app, the alarm settings and music choice in setting an alarm is very limited. The Windows app still allows full control over what music to play, such as a random playlist from Amazon Music, but not the phone app. That needs to be fixed.
Keep getting error code 1000. Not even one helpful guidance on any provided link / resource. A total waste of time.
Enough is enough. I will never buy any product from Sonos ever again. (Or anything from their founders/ owners). And will strongly suggest anyone I know to not repeat my mistake.
Terrible product management. Horrible customer support. Even the redirection to customer service contact had a bug and got stuck.
Gosh. I would be really ashamed if I work for this company. If you are their employee and reading this as part of your job, please resign. Don’t waste your time here. It doesn’t add any value to your resume / work experience. A utter disgrace.
Could you add another category at the bottom of user's comments. I don’t really like some rants, like the one above, but I think it’s funny. So could you add a smiley face along with the Like and Quote.
Yesterday I had a similar problem mentioned above. I have a Beam and two SLs connected to my Sony TV. I tried to add the kitchen SL to the group to if I’m watching the news and want to run into the Kitchen to get something, I could still hear what’s going on. Well, the volume on the TV went away, and I couldn’t hear anything for about an hour while playing around and trying to remember the stupid options and how it was originally set. I power cycled everything a couple of times and was very upset. I knew not to call Tech Support because they would only make me do what I already had done. The IOS app is horrible trying to understand how to group rooms. And when I finally got something out of my Beam, it was coming from a playlist. What a disaster. I just don’t use the app as much as I used to because I just don’t want to deal with all the frustrations. And I’ll never group rooms again.

The more I think about it, maybe you can’t group another separate speaker to your TV surround sound system. Could be my mistake, since that might throw off the entire TV Room configuration.

Certainly can (and should) be able to do this. You have to group the kitchen to the to the TV Sonos. Vice versa and the TV is lost in favour of whatever the kitchen was last playing until TV is selected on TV Sonos from 'Your Sources'…
This is Android mind you - i may be different

Thank you for your input. I only play a radio station in the Kitchen and did the grouping as you indicated. So I grouped the Sony TV to the Kitchen by checking the two boxes and selecting Apply at the bottom. When I did this, I completely lost any audio from my TV Room and everything went silent for a while. Maybe after my head clears, I will give it another try. With all the power cycling of all devices, I really don’t know how I recovered. I know my TV kept indicating at the bottom that it was switching to external speakers, but nothing was happening. And the playlist that I was referring to, I don’t know where that came from. It’s really the cumbersome of this new app. It is not user friendly at all. So I’ll give it another try when I’m in the mood for playing around. Thanks again.
So now the Sonos webservers seem to be down, so I can’t play anything in my house. Why was the system redesigned to have this failure mode?
lol the only thing that is working in the app is the new ad space, rendering something about Thanksgiving.
its been 6 months since they did the hard reset, and we’re nowhere near back to the status quo.
this is going to be a case study in HBR in a couple of years.
I just came in and read your post about Sonos servers being down. I quickly pulled up the Sonos IOS app and able to play my music. This post says 55 minutes ago. So maybe something’s changed.
Could be the app version I have can’t talk to the APIs that were deployed. 500s count as downtime for me.
