There are quite a few threads already about this product, most without using curse words. And I’ve yet been able to find an app that can do set up of new Sonos devices. Sonos continues to make strides in fixing their own app, I use it daily, and look forward to each new version.
Good for you. I’ve been searching the forums for alternatives and have not found any that are supported on iOS until I found SonoPhone on my own, which is why I posted this. I’m glad you’re enjoying the Kool-Aid, but there was no need for you to even waste your time commenting on my post if it didn’t resonate.
The problem is issues like local library compilation albums, when using Album search, showing as multiple albums containing no tracks or the queue track size limitation when using the Amazon Music service….etc, etc. SonoPhone can’t fix those things. Not defending the incomplete 80.x Sonos app. Not defending how long the fixes take to implement, but eventually they will be fixed. I have SonoPhone and like it, but when the Sonos app is mostly fixed I’ll be using it more than I use it now.
Yup SonoPhone can’t fix the many bugs Sonos has introduced to their buggy POS app and firmware. And it can’t set up new devices, but let’s be honest the Sonos app still isn’t able to do this 100%. At least the dev puts this right in the description, Sonos didn’t have the courtesy to tell us what we were losing with the update.
SonoPhone loads quickly and works with music services, will reliably play your music. Something that the POS Sonos app doesn’t do.
@Daddypants The search in the community doesn’t work either so don’t let the comment about there being other threads in this dissuade you from posting in the future.
