Don’t upgrade to the new app! The UI is not intuitive and functions that I used, like the sleep function are gone. It’s difficult to play from a streaming service. Couldn’t believe that things could get worse, but they have. The first few years of using Sonos were great, but the last couple of years have been plagued with problems. Don’t understand how they expect to sell products when the app is so flaky and you need to use it to play anything. They should have done more user testing before going live.
How could any company go ahead with this useless upgrade and not allow the use of the previous version ? Commercial suicide . Clearly the business is out of control . Their business model does not work . I am going to have to dump their equipment . Utterly unbelievable . Where is the CEO in all this ?
IMO, The decline of Sonos starts with the form of ownership. Sonos is owned nearly 80% by institutions such as hedge funds, etc. I’m not sure when this happened. These folks care nothing for the consumer, only want them to buy the products and keep the stock price advancing. The management are stooges to this form of ownership. Also, often the best employees leave to go elsewhere, so the expertise diminishes.
Explains a lot , hope they have written down the investmemt to nil ! Wont be using their equipment ever again . Alexa works better and is about 100th of the price .
The update is appalling . Cant have been tested . They deserved to be sued . I have had no music for 6 weeks and need it to cope with tinnitus . What is particularly disgraceful is not allowing one to retain the first version and not allowing anyone to go back to it .
Well, I did the update to try and fix the issues. Support actually responded to me and assured me they were working on the issues. I downloaded the update and it seems to work fine a few days ago now it’s Saturday morning. I sit down and wanna listen to music and it’s the same old *, can’t control the source in multiple rooms. Can’t switch between rooms. It’s just One thing after another, I’m done listening. I have so much anxiety. I’m gonna go do something else. This is positively absolutely beyond the shadow of the down the worst piece of * Software I’ve ever used. sent another letter to them begging them. Please fix this. We all have thousands of dollars invested in this company, they owe us all an explanation and a fix. This is terrible. I don’t even know what to do. Is there a replacement?

Yes junk it and buy Bluesound !
Hi folks, does anyone know how to hook up a Bluetooth transmitter to Sonos equipment? I have a very nice headphones (Beat) that I want to listen to from Sonos while Sonos speakers are playing. (I’m hearing impaired). I purchased a Bluetooth transmitter (miccus) and tried to hook up to my Sonos Port, but no joy there.
BTW, my understanding of the new Sonos headphones is that they are not WiFi enabled so can’t just add them as an output from the app. None of the Sonos equipment that I’m familiar with broadcasts Bluetooth. The small portable speakers receive Bluetooth like from your phone, etc., but that doesn’t do what I want.
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
You are deliberately not able to
How are you connecting this transmitter to your Port? The Port should be providing a line level output, which should be appropriate for any Bluetooth transmitter.
Do you happen to have a link to this transmitter’s manual?
Can’t even select music. Seriously Sonos!!!??? Whomever thought of this ridiculous move where you can’t just select a room / zone and then select the music service should be doing products for microsoft or something. It is truly the dumbest product change I have ever seen in 53 years of life. FIX IT.
Not sure they can . I am dumping the system .
