I’m sure it’s not just me, but it’s possibly the worst ‘update’ yet! Can’t find half of the things which were previously easy to access. It’s a big from me!
Why are there so many posts here marked “answered?” when the app remains a major disaster. Basic functionality is gone.
Not a very constructive thread, no idea which features are being referred to here♂️. Sonos cannot fix whatever it is you maybe referring too, without the detail.
Perhaps provide more information in more depth, post some screenshots/give examples and make some suggestions for improvement and state what you’d like to see in the new App. Many folk complained about the last S2 App too and this new App is intended to reflect what Sonos users have asked for - so ask away and let Sonos know what you want to see.
Constructive??? They could rollback to S2 until the new app is sorted. That would be constructive!
I don't find apps being released as beta, constructive at all!! It most likely worked on closed loops and all cabled up at Sonos HQ, so they just released it without properly testing it, along with ZERO feedback from normal users.
Our issues, for constructive measure;
We have a mesh network, nothing else works in our house. Well, Sonos doesnt work with this.
The app layout, compared to S2, is so counter intuitive, that we struggle to find simple functions. It's like Sonos have sought inspiration with Apple. Huge setback.
I am mother * FORCED to either update my system or configure a new one, also counter intuitive! Updating doesnt work, and the system is deleted over and over again. Only option is to set up a new system - again.
Selection of zones can apparently not be done without selecting input first - holy *, medieval tech!! At least, we have barely used the app since it was released as we have fought with the setup ever since.
We tried changing our wifi, which are only made everything worse. As apparently, our logged in system, is locked to the wifi, not the user. SMART!
The settings are limited to 4-5 functions, none of them functional for the Holy Crap situation most users are facing right now. The troubleshooting Sonos is quick to throw in our faces is quickly outlined with, 'factory reset until it works'.
Constructive enough?

I updated my iOS mobile app and still no Music Libraries. When I went to add in the one that’s most important to me, it didn’t like spaces between the words in the Music LIbrary name. Once I removed the spaces and also tried underscores, the “Add” button lit up on the bottom right and I thought I was in business but, alas, not luck. I got an error message. WIth that being said, if I changed the folder name on my hard drive to match the one in the iOS iPhone app, does anyone think that might do the trick? Again, Sonophone has no problem finding my libraries and playing them.
I agree with Derpappupdate in that Sonos should rollback an app that will return those of us with these issues back to where we were before all of this started. Let us worry about the dreaded SMBv issue - whether we’re at danger of anything or not.

The instructions for adding a library have changed recently. Specifically, there are more steps to adding a library than just the ones in the app. You need to set up the share in the OS you are using. See this support page (pay special attention to the links about adding a share on a PC, Mac, or NAS):

Thanks, jgatie… I’ve tried this several times. I’ll give it another shot just to say I did. Thanks again.
