Are Sonos planning on fixing this?
You mean fix problems with your network? A tough call, since it’s outside their control. The possible permutations in a home network are very many, with the recent introduction of WiFi mesh systems adding another level of complexity. The latter typically contain their own router, which splits the local network; a Sonos controller on one side won’t see players on the other.
When a router works for smart Tv, fridge, watches etc etc, without any problem, it’s the Sonos software that’s the problem, not the router or the user.
Sorry, that simply isn’t the case. Devices of the type you mention have quite simple networking needs: mostly it’s just “connect to the internet”.
Sonos is a multi-device system where the devices all need to talk to one another, and it also relies upon the local network to support multicast and broadcast traffic without interruption. Correctly configured networks do so without problems. The vast majority of customers must have no issues, otherwise this board would be flooded.
If you felt like describing your network setup and how your Sonos is configured some of the experienced users here might be able to assist. To follow up with the official support channels you’d need to submit a system diagnostic and post the confirmation number.
