Question

Wireless Card for Playbase replacement

The wireless card has stopped working, so the product doesn’t work. A technician with Sonos has confirmed that this is the problem. The cost for repairing it, says Sonos, is $518.34!!! This is outrageous. Is there a third party repair source that will replace this $29.00 part?

As someone who has invested significantly in SONOS products (5 speakers, sub, etc.), I am furious that they build products that can’t be repaired. This isn’t true for Dell, Sony, or Toyota.

What gives, Sonos?

Hi @Blaze Hugo.

Thank you for reaching out to Sonos Community.

Did the technician from Sonos confirmed that your Playbase is already out of warranty?

Sonos doesn't have any third-party store that can fix the wireless card.

If you need help with any other information, please be sure to let us know.

https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Sonos_Playbase may have some clues, but they don’t have a guide for the wireless card specifically.  This may mean it’s not an off the shelf part that’s easily swappable.

Mark, the problem with the wireless card is a well-known defect at SONOS, and the warranty’s timeline is not relevant. It will be replaced.
