Where is your own music stored?

In any case Sonos integrates dozens of services, many of which can be used for free.

You can set up an inexpensive network drive to store your music for Sonos to play. Only requirement is that it support SMB v1, v2 or v3 won’t work.

I use a Raspberry Pi, a Pi Zero W with a USB thumb drive for music storage works well and is cheap to buy and run and is easy to set up.

If you have a NAS now you can set up a Pi as an SMB v1 gateway even easier.

You can also run Plex.

All my music is stored on my NAS and I reach it directly by adding the path etc on the Music Library tab in Settings.  No need for any other box or gadget.  Also make sure Media Servers setting is on so Sonos can find it.
