Well, there's been an FCC database entry for an updated Connect since April 2017, but nothing has been announced, unlike the Sonos One which appeared in the FCC database on the day it was announced. The updated Connect might already be in circulation and we don't know (anyone bought a new Connect lately?).

The Connect update in the FCC's records could be for something as simple as changing the wireless card. The original Connect never had a unique FCC ID because it seems to have fallen under different rules at that time where only the wireless card needed to be certified, not the device that the card was used in... so a change in the wireless card would likely require new approval. Indeed, the internal photos of the new Connect appear to show a Mini PCI-e WiFi card in it, as opposed to the old component which was a larger Mini PCI card.
