Question

Can Sonos Play 1 Gen 2 connect to Ikea Symfonisk speakers

I bought a new SONOS Play 1 Gen 2 and 2 Ikea Symfonisk Table Lamps. I thought that if I kept them in the same room they could connect. However, even though they are both in the same physical room, SONOS has put the lamps into another room through the App.

Can they not integrate to form a larger system, if not why not?

Amy help would be appreciated.

Because that's the way Sonos works.

Players are designated as "rooms". You can bond two like models as a stereo pair in a "room". You can bond surround speakers to a home theatre player in a "room". You can add a Sub to a "room".

"Rooms" can then be optionally grouped together as needed, to play the same source in sync.

In your case you could bond the two Symfonisk lamps as a stereo pair. To run them in conjunction with the other speaker (which I suspect is a One/gen2 as there isn't a Play:1/gen2) you'd group the two "rooms" together.
