Hello, I would like to improve audio in my 20 m2 room. Now I´ve got two sonos era 100 set up as stereo speakers. I just listen background music troght sonos radio. I´m satisfied with bass performance, but most time I sit in the middle of the room and i would like to listen more surround music, not just from one wall. My question is if it is better to buy  beam gen 2 or 2 more era 100 speakers and place them to the opposite wall. Beam gen 2 has google asistant which I use with plenty of my smart home devices. Era 100 have in line connector and bluetooth so I can play videos from PC, but if I pair them with beam it is not functional. Now I dont have tidal or any other service to listen dolby atmos music. For the future when it will be  dolby atmos more common it is porobably better to buy beam 2? Will i get better sound from 2 era 100s with beam 2 or 4 era 100s What is your opinion, experience ? Thank you.

Edited: what I said earlier was wrong: I misunderstood the question…

Yes, the Beam 2 can create virtual Atmos (it has no upfiring speakers) but the Arc might be better for your needs? Similarly the Era 300’s have upfiring speakers so maybe try them instead of the 100’s.

Video is a tricky one to answer. If it’s sent to the Beam as a 5.x or Atmos signal, great. Otherwise it may only be transmitted in stereo, and the Beam doesn’t know to duplicate the music to the surrounds, resulting in stereo only from the soundbar.

You don’t sound like you want “surround” which is multiple distinct channels of audio.

Sounds like you are looking more for either two sets of Stereo Paired speakers Grouped, or four mono ones Grouped.

Either way, get two more 100s and try them each way. Also try them Stereo Paired but with the R/L in opposite corners rather than along a single wall.
