Can I use my beam with a turntable?

Can I use something like This to connect a turntable to my Beam (Gen 1), and then be able to use it in my Sonos System?

If not, why not?

No. This device changes the audio signal to HDMI, not HDMI-ARC, which is what the Beam is looking for.
