Iphone 12 not connecting to SONOS network

I have a simple SONOS network of 2 Play1’s , i’m using S2 and I can’t get my  iphone 12 to connect to the SONOS network.

When my phone is the only controlling device on the network it won’t connect. If then i connect another controlling device (e,g. my wife’s iphone12 mini or my MacbookAir) which does work, my iphone 12 suddenly then connects to SONOS network.

 

Then if my i take my wifes’ iPhone12 and MabookAir off the network and try again, my ipHone 12 doesn’t work gain!!

Something is blocking my Iphone12 when there is no other controller on the site

I’m using a stand BT smart hub router. The iphones and Macbook air are connected to the 5GHZ network, the SONOS is connected to the same network via 2,5GHZ 

rebooting any part of the network or phone makes no difference

any ideas?
