I just got my sonos out of storage and went to set them up and the app asked me to update no it doesn't know I have a sound bar sub and speakers ???? Now have nothing working ??
How long ago were they placed into storage? What version of the Sonos App were they previously using: S1, S2, or the latest Sonos App? What controller device are you using now and what version is its Operatjng System?
Finally, are you using the same router/WiFi SSID/credentials etc. as at the time they were placed into storage or have those things changed too?
Hi Ken
Placed into storage 2yrs ago think using S1 have had the system 9yrs and yes different WiFi but I can't even change that the S2 app won't let me do anything keeps wanting me to sign out then back in and nothing changes keeps repeating that ? Items not recognised ?
Cheers Terry

I reckon Terry, because they’ve been in storage for such a long time you may find their firmware is so far out of date, that the devices cannot install the latest FW version they need… but that’s just a guess on my part.
That said, I’ve seen others here report a similar issue and the Staff have advised users to speak over the phone with Sonos Support Staff to get the latest update installed - so I suggest that might be your best course of action. Here is the link to call the Staff:

Also I’ve seen users here wire their speakers to the router and try things a number of times and report success doing that too - but IMHO speaking to Sonos direct would be my own preferred option.
Hope you can get it sorted - Happy New Year too.
