WiFi password not accepted - Sonos One Gen 2

I recently bought a Sonos One Gen 2 and I cannot set it up. I've tried 5 different wifi networks, rebooting routers, etc. My app can find the system and sometimes it creates a temporary wifi network, and this connects to the Sonos unit. However, whenever I come to the last step, which is configuring it in the actual wifi network, it never accepts the password. Always end up with “check password”.

Since the Sonos unit can connect to the temporary wifi created by the app, I assume that the wifi hardware in the speaker is not defective. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I went through the FAQs, and tried most steps there (resetting the unit, resetting the router, trying different wifi bands) to no avail.

One of the things I’ve found useful, frequently, is to connect the Sonos device to the router with an Ethernet cable, at least for setup, and remove the cable once setup has been completed. Have you tried that?

If so, and it hasn’t helped, I would call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
