Why not radio analogue signal?

I understand Sonos is currently sending the audio signal to speakers as digital signal over IP, before converting it to analogue, right?

But why not sending it as analogue radio signal, much like radio, or those old wireless landline phones? This could reduce latency?

I'm probably missing something, but just thought it'd be interesting to address this.

Because Ethernet connections, including wired and WiFi, don’t carry analog signals, only digital? Sonos would have to create new ‘normal’ speakers, and then devices to drive them, as you wouldn’t be able to access any internet streams, which are all digital.

Using radio signals would be throwing away all the tech advances brought about by digital, with transmissions being limited in range and/or dependent on local atmospheric conditions.

Anyway, latency is not caused by the analog to digital conversion, but by the need to have all Sonos speakers be able to play in perfect sync.
