Hello Sonos community,

I am a dentist and I am building a new dental office and want to install Sonos S2 system in my clinic, about 12-15 speakers.

Besides those I would like to install microphones that would allow me to call my asistants from each of the 6 operating rooms to 3-5 speakers that would be placed centrally in the hallway. The quality of the mic sound is not important, I just want to be heard. It may be a push to talk mic on the desk or wall, or better a mic that is activated without a button but when you speak close to it.

Ex. I may be working in room 5 and would like to call one of my asistants to bring me something from the sterilisation room by pressing a button on the microphone on the desk and I would like my call to lower the volume of 3-5 Sonos speakers located in the hallway playing music and anounce my request.

I would like to know if it is possible to connect a microphone in this way and if yes, how can I configure the microphone to the Sonos S2 system?

You might want to try the Sonos business support folks, they’d know more than the home user’s community here.
