My system was great all still on S1 app and then I decided to add a speaker I could only add it by updating to Sonos 2- I needed to order a new Sonos Port since my old Connect would not work in Sonos 2-  After ten or more hours of trying to update my 8 speakers Play 1 - I  realized what a mistake I made- tried to reinstall S1 but now all speakers need an “update” (turned off automatic updates too late) and can’t add any equipment in S1 app- anyway to work around this ? Am I doomed to have to try to update again to S2? Anyone having luck with updating older Play 1 to Sonos 2 app? Furious my system is ruined!

Hi @Cp5000

Welcome to the Sonos Community! And, apologies for the delay. I’m sorry to hear of the issues you’ve been having.

From what I can see, it looks like you have this partially resolved, but are still missing a couple of speakers from your S2 system - is that right? It also seems your system is missing the latest software update.

If you are still experiencing issues with applying updates, please try doing so from the Desktop Controller (app for Windows or macOS, downloadable here) instead - if you have success updating from there, you should then be able to finalise setup from the mobile app.

Otherwise, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

The speakers that are still on S1 will need to be factory reset in order to be added to S2.

I hope this helps.
