I haven't been able to connect to my sub mini since the latest app update and have tried factory resetting/reinstalling numerous times.

The app recognises there's a sub but won't do the final part of connecting it to WiFi.

I'm guessing I won't be the only one experiencing this problem..

I have been unable to get my submini to reconnect since June and have tried everything suggested on this and other boards. Also have 3 hours of quality phone time with Sonos, no resolution. What are my options???

Same Issue. Sonos sub mini is the only component that won’t connect to my system. Factory reset and adding component went as planned. But it says ‘not connected’ in my system and no audio output.

Anyone from Sonos add some colour to fixing this issue? Wait times on phone support are currently 40 mins. Feels like a company in meltdown.

Same here. Since the app update, I still can't get the Sub Mini to connect to my system anymore. It keeps breaking during setup in various ways, either never connecting to wifi (if I add it by passcode) or else never connecting to the phone (if I add it by NFC). The light on it eventually goes solid white if I add it by pass code,  but it still doesn't show up in the system.

It worked fine before the app update. Sonos has removed all their async support and the phone wait times are horrible. The CEO email address is on the support page but that is also ignored or else gets a form letter response sent several months later.

It's just an expensive paperweight now. It's been months since the app update and basic functionality still doesn't work.

They really should roll this whole thing back and do proper development and testing before trying again.

Lesson learned... this isn't a company that can be trusted over the long term. They already screwed over their user base once with the S1 to S2 migration, and apparently never learned their lesson. "Move fast and break things" should not apply to expensive hardware. I truly regret the money I spent with this company.

Oh wow, they just laid off 100 people. https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/14/24220357/sonos-layoffs-august-2024-app

Their stock is down 40% since the beginning of the year. Is the company about to go bankrupt? Seems to me the CEO should probably step down if there's any hope of saving the company... so much for our speakers, folks 😢

Is there any solution for iOS? I guess downgrading is not an option there?

my system stopped working tonight. At first only the beam worked, then somehow restarting helped my one sl. But for the mini there s no way of bringing it back to life. It lays there like a piece of wood. Tried factory reset also. Any help appreciated. Thanks

As far as I can tell, it’s not on you. Their backend systems are totally effed, and some days some parts will work, while other days other parts will work and the previous day’s functionality will break.

It took me a dozen resets and dozens of attempts to reconnect the system, both on iOS on Android. I removed every single Sonos device, reset them completely, and manually re-added them several times over several days, and eventually the Sub Mini got connected again… but who knows for how long. On different days, different parts of my system will appear and disappear from the list. It’s really unstable. Never had an issue with the old app.

I would return or sell your system if you still can, but otherwise, all you can do is hope that they fix the app before they go bankrupt. I wouldn’t count on things turning around unless they replace the CEO… Sonos seems to be circling the drain now =/

Thanks! My sub is less than 1year old i could still try to contact the shop and ask for refund maybe.

Update: I managed to make it work!

I removed a wifi extender and then reset it again, finally system saw it again. Thanks for help! Let’s hope it stays stable.

The latest update (80.07.03 on iOS) hasn’t changed my inability to connect my Sub Mini to my Play 1’s.

Just thought I would add my .02 of random behavior. Purchased a Sub mini yesterday.  Moved a Sub Gen1 to a different room in order to add the Sub mini.  Moving the Sub Gen1 presented it’s own issues, multiple factory resets etc. When I tried added the Sub Mini, at first it said it could not join Wifi.  Pretty sure it’s not my home network as I have 18 other Sonos devices on the same network.  Got past that with a couple of factory resets.  Once the Sub mini was adopted it would not let me add it to the room where I had removed the Sub Gen1 no matter what I tried. Wired to switch, factory reset 5+ times, restart Arc, log out of app etc.  Finally, I dropped the ERA 100’s that I was using as stereo surrounds and boom! it finally let me add the Sub mini.  Once the Sub mini was part of the room I wanted it in, the app let me add back the ERA 100 surrounds with no issues.  I know Sonos has been put through the wringer with how they deployed the new app, I don’t have much to add to that discussion only to say that I’ve been a Sonos customer for about 10 years now and adding new speakers or moving existing to different rooms in my house seems to give me much more issues than it ever used to.  Adding new products used to be a breeze and work pretty much work OOTB every time. These days I seemingly have to do 8 factory resets, hardwire, drop components, Google for suggestions etc. before the device magically joins my system.  Maybe it’s due to the added complexity as my system has grown but I’d like to think that shouldn’t be the case.

After reading a few hints and suggestions, I decided to try unpairing my two Play 1’s, to see if I could connect the Sub Mini to one of them. It worked. Then I was able to add the second one back and the setup is working, full sound restored.

anyone found a solution to this, managed to get sub working for a couple months and then it disconnected again a dew days ago. tried hard reset, resetting, hard wired app etc.. still no luck

Always get stuck on sub has been added but may not appear on system
