Hi everyone - currently I have a gen 2 beam and a sub mini. I’m thinking of buying a single sonos 5. My room is L shaped but all my living/listening is done at the ‘bottom’ of the L. I’m unsure about the best place to put the speakers. I’m guessing that maybe trueplay will adjust the Sonos system to a certain extent. I’ll try to send a photo of how things are presently…

what’s your plan for the single Sonos 5.

That’s what I’m uncertain about - I’m considering using it alongside the beam and possibly attaching the turntable to it and not having the conventional system in the photo

If you’re keeping the audio rack put the 5 on the top.  Yes you can plug a phono pre into the 5 with a RCA to 3.5mm cable.

One thing to keep in mind…. If the 5 is grouped with the Beam while watching TV the 5 may be out of sync and may suffer dropouts.

Yes that’s a possibility but I’d have to find somewhere for the turntable - I think the 5 is just too tall to sit on one of the lower shelves and in any case the vibrations from the 5 might upset it! A wall mounted shelf is a possibility. Re beam/5 and tv I’d want the 5 for music only. I guess there could be problems there as the sub mini is linked to the beam - I would like music to benefit from the sub 🤔
