I have an fifth wheel RV with a Winegard 1000 gateway. I use a T-Mobile data plan. All of my components connected to the gateway.

  • TV Livingroom
  • TV outside
  • Tapo camera
  • Alexa dot
  • Cell phones
  • Laptop
  • Sonos P5 Gen 1

The gateway was having problems so Wingard sent me a replacement. Same model. With this unit I can’t connect my Alexa or Sonos.

I suspect the security protocol? I’m no expert. The protocol settings are:

  • OPEN
  • WPA-PSK (TKIP)
  • WPA2-PSK (AES)
  • WPA2-PSK (TKIP) & WPA2-PSK (SHA256)
  • WPA-PSK (TKIP) & WPA2-PSK (AES)

Using 2.4GHz

I’ve tried to factory reset. Still not connecting. Took it in my house and connected to my home WIFI no problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

I’m not familiar with your Winegard Gateway as it appears to be a specialty item for RV’s. As far as security, I suggest assigning  WPA2-PSK (AES). Click on the link for tips to install Sonos after changing your router.

I appreciate your input but unfortunately it didn’t work. I’ve tried to do it wireless and wired. No luck. I set my security to  WPA-PSK (TKIP) as that is the protocol that worked in the past. I just spent 2 hours factory resetting and connecting with the same results. Brought it in the home and tried to connect. same outcome this time. plugged into router flashing green light no connection using app. How do I get a solid white light? I got a brick? Back to blue tooth?

Factory reset and blinking green light?

Sounds like you need to start from the beginning and set your system up again.

Back to your original issue, do you have client isolation / privacy enabled on the new router but not on the old one?

Yes did a reset.

I’m no expert on router settings but the only settings  that I can change is the security protocol. MAC and IP. I left them alone and changed the protocol to WPA-PSK (TKIP). My other devices had problems connecting to the newer WPA2-PSK (AES). I even set it to open and that didn’t work.

Now I’ve added to the problem by allowing my S1 app to do an update. 😕. It updated to S2 ugh. Now I can’t get S1 back. So frustrating! I have a brick!
