I have Sonos play 5 - it was not using few months - when i tried to Connect to my system - is WiFi error, cannot be update or start update and nothing happens - i contacted with Sonos chat and i got reply „we will inform You when will be update, no end date” - what I can do with this speaker I cannot use or sold. For me is not solution i have  not working speaker 

 

 

I reset my router, change device to another one with app, reinstall app, reset Sonos speaker, reset everything what I can - setup again and one of my Sonos speaker cannot update, cannot connect, nothing still error 1014. 
 

On lan cable / on WiFi - still not working, cannot update

 


My problem with Sonos 5 was solved :)

What was done:

  • connect Sonos 5 via LAN cable
  • Unplug rest Sonos speakers from power 
  • download old app Sonos S1 
  • update Sonos 5 via Sonos S1
  • factory reset Sonos 5 - after successfully update in old app Sonos S1
  • Switched on again rest Sonos speakers
  • Open new app Sonos S2
  • add Sonos 5 
  • done !
