Sonos Play 1 without easy wifi connection

Ive recently moved to college with a Sonos Play 1 speaker. It uses Eduroam so I don't think I can use that wifi channel, but it has a specific IoT wifi router for devices such as Alexa. Could I use this wifi channel, even though I have to have a specific wifi username and password that I obviously cannot put into my speaker as it has no buttons to do so. Any attempt at using the Sonos S1 app has marked it as incompatible.

thank you\

Even if you could attach it to this network, either your phone will not be able to see it, or everyone’s phones will be able to see it. Neither of these are going to be good.

Get a Bluetooth speaker.

I don’t know what Eduroam is, but if it requires some sort of password, no. Assuming your college doesn’t have rules against it, I’d consider a travel router to log in to Eduroam, and it generates a signal that you have set up to connect your PLAY:1 to.

All that being said, many universities here in the states have pretty strong prohibitions against this kind of thing, up to expulsion…under the assumption that you might be using their bandwidth to connect all sorts of illegal things.
