I have noticed drop out through Spotify recently and now i cannot connect to the speakers via the sonos app, although they still appear in the spotify app and can play music through them.

No changes on wifi apart from adding a powerline extender to improve wifi in living room for sky tv box and smart tv.

Try restarting your phone or deleting Spotify from your music services in the Sonos app and re-adding it.
