Hi,

I have a pair of Sonos 5’s and other Sonos speakers and Home theatre set up. I mainly use my fives for listing to music. However, as many already know playing lossless audios through Apple Airplay isn’t possible with Sonos. Fiio have released the SR11 and i was wondering if this would actually work due to the Sonos Fives having a built in DAC? Would the internal DAC just down grade the Lossless input from the SR11 to lossy as its connecting to the Sonos 5’s via Airplay?

When you connect something to the analogue connection on a Sonos device, Sonos will convert it to digital. Sonos digital conversion is also lossless.

Yes, I appreciate that when I plug analog into the fives it will be lossless. However, the Fiio device is using AirPlay to connect to the Fives which is digital. So, will it work?

It seems that since the new app and latest firmware updates. Lossless audio is available.
