My Sonos play 5 (gen 1) is blinking red. Any ideas what it is and how to fix it ?

I’d start by reading the LED states FAQ. If that doesn’t provide the answer, you might want to call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.


Flashing red

A new (or reset) Sonos product will show a flashing red light if it is not set up within 30 minutes of powering on. You can clear this state by rebooting your Sonos product.

Flashing red and white

The Sonos product failed to update. Reboot your Sonos product and attempt to update the product again. If the issue continues, contact Sonos Support.
