Hello. I have set up my arc and Gen3 sub using truplay.

My problem is even though the bass is impressive it really hurts the ears, even at mid volume.

Is there a way to set up the sub for the bass to be transmitted downwards so that it is felt more than heard. This is important especially when playing music.

Any assistance?

Try moving the Sub to a different location in the room.

Hello. I have set up my arc and Gen3 sub using truplay.

I had a Playbar, Sub and Ones for surrounds, that I really enjoyed for years. I got an Arc for Christmas last year. After setting up the Arc with the rest of the speakers and then did Trueplay, I couldn't believe how much louder the Arc is compared to the Playbar. While the Playbar does sound better, the Arc is truly more dynamic and adds some umph to the rest of the speakers.

That being said, if you are playing music at mid levels, no wonder your ears hurt! For me 50% is super loud in my home. My max is usually around 35-40% for movies and music, lower for background audio and normal listening.

Try going into the Sub’s settings and either lower the Sub level, or the bass in the EQ settings to your desired comfort level.
