On my E300s there is a 13 second delay when listening via airplay. This is from both my Mac and my iPhone. The same devices have a 2 second lag when airplaying to other devices including my Sonos 5s, Ones, Arc, and Apple HomePods. Thirteen seconds seems pretty excessive. Is there some setting I'm not seeing that can fix this?

Normal wifi play is instantaneous. I

FWIW… I’m not seeing any significant delay when AirPlaying from an iPad or iPhone XR with iOS 16.4 - I chose to use the Apple Music App on both and it switches playback from the iDevice to an Era-300 stereo pair (called Polo) almost instantly. See attached animation (The Apple Music App is on left side of the screen capture and the Sonos App on the right)…

My thoughts are that it’s perhaps something local - the Mac’s ‘Airplay woes’ are quite well documented online. I don’t think this is a Sonos Era issue, maybe something is awry with the local network setup.

That would make sense were it not that the same Mac and iPhone airplay just fine to my non-300 Sonos devices. Oh well, I don’t use airplay that much anyways in those rooms.

Are your 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands separated with different SSID’s? - If so, try swapping bands. Perhaps try things on a 2.4Ghz fixed ‘non-overlapping channel 1, 6 or 11, with a channel-width of 20Mhz only - if that doesn’t work, then see what happens when you place them in the same room as your router on the 5Ghz band, or perhaps try the Era 300 wired to the LAN  - Just see if things improve and then take things from there.
