Here is a link to Sonos’ support site explaining the error you are experiencing, with a solution:

It is not advisable to attempt an update while outside of your network. That's on you and not Sonos’ fault. The error you have is not isolated to they type of country you live in. It happens to users all over and is easily fixed.

We are a user community here, not pons staff or support depart.
Why did you try to update your speaker whilst on a camping trip?

I used a diferent  wifi source and it worked at first. Yhanks for the link. Will try it. I thought I posted on the support group. Sorry. I have read through different comments and saw variois users complaining about the error 1000. So yes. Its not supposed to be that difficult to fix tech. Even though it runs on wifi. Wifi can change and it should not mess up a whole system because of a small change. Thank you for your advice I will keep it under consideration and will rather bring my Roam. I however thought the One would work as well.

Turn off AutoUpdate on device(s) and phone and you can then select when it’s convenient for you to update.

There is no Sonos support site where you can post, calling in is the best official support option.
