Era100 update reduced audio quality

A recent update has ruined the sound quality of my speaker. This speaker was purchased for its sound quality and more specifically for its ability to reduce sibilance in music and TV. Since the latest update the sibilance is so high the speaker has become mostly unusable for me. And the treble and bass settings no longer reduce sibilance. Sibilance aside, the audio quality is noticeably worse (less full and dynamic, voices sound like they’re being smothered with a pillowcase or they’re talking in a bathroom) Am I stuck with some stranger’s audio preferences every time there’s an update? If I, the user, have no control over the speaker I paid for then what is the point?.. I’m so upset my beloved speaker may be heading for the waste.

Is there a solution to regain previous audio quality? Can I prevent unwanted audio changes in the future?

Well, I thought my 2 questions were straightforward and simple, but no one seems interested in helping.
If Sonos is determined to amplify the saliva noises with each update the speaker is going to the garbage. Unacceptable that a product no longer functions as it did when purchased. If I wanted different sounds or features I would buy a different speaker. What a terrible company

This is a user forum, whilst there are Sonos employees on here it is not primarily for support, they have a Phone number.

As a User I have not noticed any issues with sound quality after the updates, and not seen other similar complaints on here.  The app is a different story and there are plenty of threads on that.

Have you check the EQ and have to performed Trueplay tuning on the 100s  this may have been deactivated?

Everyone is so totally fatalistic on here and just seem literally itching to bin their speakers — whatever happened to moderate conversation ?? The app updates do not affect the the sound or tonal quality of the speakers.  Very very occasionally a firmware update to the speakers will address a specifically identified issue.  I do not know of any such update in the recent past.

for what it’s worth my Era100’s are not affected in the way you state.
