ERA100 Mounting

Question

Is the Mounting Hole / Screw - Strong enough to hold the unit upside-down?
I’m looking to create a DIY bracket and this M5 14mm screw would be the unique mounting point, holding the unit upside-down giving uses access to the touch panel from below.

Any longevity impacts of using them in this orientation.
I read that the 300’s have accelerometers to detect the orientation, so that unit would seemingly not have any but I’ve not read anything on the 100’s.
NB.
I’m disregarding any acoustic or tuning limitations (ie: Software) as my basic testing seems to not overly affect performance.

If the screw is going to be your only support I’d suggest a dab of thread lock, the kind that stays soft allowing easy removal, not the kind that hardens and requires enough force to break the bond to remove.

The Era 100 weighs under 5 lbs, and although the threads on the M5 screws aren’t really designed to be weight bearing, I would think they could handle 5 lbs without too much trouble. You could always get some M5 screws and matching socket and do a little stress testing, since the hardware isn’t expensive.

Not sure what your DIY design is going to look like, but if you can mount the speaker at an angle so it points to the listening position rather than along the ceiling, I think you’ll get better performance. The bolts should hold better too as the threads wouldn’t be bearing the full weight.
