Era 100s with Sub mini for Stereo

Considering a pair of Era 100s with a sub mini for stereo in my living room.  Just wondering who has done this and their opinions.  Does the sub mini help much?  Would the Sub be a better fit?  I like my bass but definitely prefer tight to overly punchy and especially muddy.  I am going to try out an old pair of Play 1s I have to get a general feel for what to expect so mainly wondering about the impact of Sub vs Sub mini.

Thanks.

The size of the room matters here.  I live the sub mini for smaller rooms maybe around 100 sqft, but would not use it in an large open concept space.  For that, the full sub is a much better option.  But I wouldn’t recommend the Era 100s for that big of space either.

Thank you for your feedback. I was wondering if the Era 100s would be enough. I have a 14 x16 room that is open behind the listening seat, 9 ft ceilings dropping to 8 ft behind the listening seat.  I will definitely hook up my Play 1s and try them before taking the leap.
