If you add them to the TV system they will be used as surrounds, no choice in that.
If you make them a new Sonos Room you could Group them to the TV Room but they would have a 75 MS delay, likely making it harder to hear, not better.
As a long time hearing aid wearer and having family that have worn them even longer I'm very leary of over the counter hearing devices.
Many will deliver ear damaging sound levels that will make your ears much worse.
Even getting them adjusted to match the actual hearing loss in each ear isn't really possible, some of the best of the lot can come close if the user follows the setup process precisely.
I don't have an inexpensive option to offer but if you are near a Costco you can get a detailed hearing exam for free, even if not a member. The hearing aids they offer are pretty decent and the prices are great, or you can shop elsewhere.
I had big hopes for the new Sonos headphones in this area but from my reading they aren't what I need.
It’s disappointing that Sonos technology cannot accommodate moving the sound balance to whatever part of the speaker system you want. Stereo systems could do that decades ago using knobs. I’ve saved the box and receipt - and will be returning the era 100 pair this week.
Perhaps it is disappointing that there doesn’t seem to be a market large enough for companies to support this concept. I’d think it would be an opportunity, myself, but then I’ve not looked at market data for profitibility.
Trying to assist someone with slight hearing issue to better hear TV dialog without turning up the Beam soundbar so loud. We added 2 Era 100 speakers to it, sitting one on each side of sofa, but they don’t play the voice / dialog.
Is there a way to make them just mirror the soundbar? Or even just be the primary? Or… so they just become a 2nd set of speakers. We don’t need 5.1 surround, and he doesn’t want to have to put on headphones.
Would really appreciate any help
Have you turned on Speech Enhancement on the Sonos app’s Now Playing screen when watching TV?
Thanks Rhonny. We will give that a shot.
