I have a system of 3 x Sonos Ones

What is the simplest way to connect a turntable to them

Hi @MartySim

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

There is no simple way to connect a turntable to a Sonos One, but there are ways to do it, and cheaper ways to do it.

So, if you already have a turntable and it has Bluetooth, then the cheapest way to get it playing on your speakers would be to purchase a Roam 2, connect the two via Bluetooth and then group-in whichever Ones you want to play too. Roam 2 must play to have the others play.

If you have a turntable that does not have Bluetooth, then purchasing a Era 100 plus a line-in adaptor would be the way to go - connect the turntable to the speaker via cable and adaptor, and Line-In will show as a source for any room in the Sonos app. The Era 100 does not have to play for other speakers to be able to play, but it can join in.

And if you don’t already have a turntable, we have a selection from Pro-Ject available on our website (scroll to the bottom).

I hope this helps.

Edit: Era 100 also supports Bluetooth, but line-in is preferable.

Hello!

Thanks, does that mean we can pair as many Sonos One with an Era 100?

Is an amp needed between the turntable and the Era 100?

Thanks

The correct term would be group but yes you can group as many Sonos One's (or other sonos products) as you like (theoretical max limit 31) with the Era 100.

You don't need an Amp but depending on the turntable you may need a pre-amp to boost the signal level to line in level and correct the frequency response.

That depends on what you mean by “pair”. Please see my article for common Sonos terminology:

In the context of this thread, however, I think you are asking if you can group many Sonos Ones playing the Line-In or Bluetooth feed from a Era 100, and the answer is yes - up to the maximum limit of 32 total speakers on a system.

Is an amp needed between the turntable and the Era 100?

I presume you don’t mean a Sonos Amp, and are referring to a pre-amp for the turntable? Yes - if one is not built into the turntable (select Line rather than Phono on a switch) you will need to fit a pre-amp to amplify the needle’s signal up to the line level that Era 100 will accept.

I hope this helps.
