Hi everyone,

I’m using two Sonos Era 100 speakers connected to my Pioneer Opus Quad mixer via a USB-C to jack cable. Unfortunately, I’m experiencing an audio delay of around 75 milliseconds when compared to the sound in my headphones, which I use for pre-cueing.

This latency is affecting my ability to mix tracks in real-time, as the speakers’ output is delayed compared to what I hear through the headphones. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Is there any way to adjust the delay in the Sonos system, or should I consider using external devices to synchronize the audio?

Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

@SimonC.

That is the normal expected behavior, because there’s the minimum of 75ms delay caused by AD conversion. That can’t be avoided. You would need to have the ability on your mixer to delay headphone output what it probably doesn’t support.

Thank you for the response! Since the 75ms delay due to AD conversion is expected and unavoidable, I’m wondering if anyone knows of an external device or system that could help correct this delay. Specifically, I’m looking for something that can either delay the headphone output to match the speakers or adjust the overall signal in a way that resolves this discrepancy.

Has anyone successfully used such a solution with their DJ setup, or is there a recommended device that can handle this type of synchronization?

Thanks again for the help!

If you could get a time machine…

Seriously, that delay is built into the core Sonos design and can’t be avoided.
