I have a Arc, with 2x Play 1’s, and a Gen 3 Subwoofer for my Surround Sound system.  I have it connected to my Samsung TV, and I use Samsung’s native streaming apps to watch my media.

I can repeat an experience that occurs during Wheel of Time, Season 2, ep 5, about 10 min in,  A startling loud pop occurs, then the Center Channel drops off.

Set the TV to these settings (if available):

HDMI-eARC Mode: Off

Digital Output Audio Format: Pass-Through

Probably this 2 year old bug.  See this for more info.

The difference is the OP isn’t using an Apple TV 4K or Xbox. They are just using the TV’s native apps. So hopefully disabling eARC and setting the TV to Pass Through will fix the problem.

Hopefully your suggestion work for op.  But there are some users reporting pops when using their tv apps not just atv or Xbox so perhaps relevant that op knows about this long standing bug.
