I have a couple of Play 5’s in my media room. I want to add a soundbar and send the sound from the TV to the sound bar through the HDMI Arc cable.
question, can the play 5’s be wirelessly grouped with the soundbar (such as the Arc) so sound will automatically come from all three speakers

You cannot use Play:5 Gen 1s as surrounds, only Gen 2 models.
You can bond them as surrounds / rear speakers for TV sources.
For audio, if bonded you can use them as either surrounds (Ambient) or Stereo (Full) by switching the Mode setting.
If not set as surrounds and Grouped, playing TV sources there will be a audio delay of 75 ms. No delay for music sources.
