2nd update, still no connection to 2.4/5ghz wifi router. When are you going to sort this out?

Since there is nothing endemic, to my knowledge, about the Sonos system that would cause this issue, I’d think there is a possibility that the network the Sonos is trying to connect to doesn’t match the system as explained in the Sonos Network Requirements FAQ.

One thing I’d certainly test (if possible) is connecting one Sonos device to your router with an Ethernet cable, temporarily. I’d certainly call Sonos Support directly to discuss it, even if it works, to figure out why you’re having such difficulty.

Note @Antloft34 that a Beam (gen-1 or gen-2) will only connect to a 2.4Ghz WiFi (or SonosNet) signal. It’s faster 5Ghz WiFi adapter is used only for ‘bonding’ with any Surrounds/Sub.

Thks for the above. I’ve tried everything. Just making the point to Sonos HQ that I’m getting annoyed that they still haven’t worked out the software for the older products.
I also spoke with an approved Sonos engineer who told me the whole thing is a nightmare and Sonos still haven’t sorted this. He said you could keep trying 10 or 15 times to connect, and then randomly it may suddenly do it. He says it’s flawed and warned me that the update sequence may take some time.

Come on Sonos - sort it out!
