Hi, is it possible to use two sonos fives in stereo connected together through an Ethernet cable while not being connected to a router(no router network available outside somewhere for example). And with the audio signal going through the line in on one of the speakers. Is this possible?

Well, yes in fact. Though you don’t need an Ethernet cable.

Configure Line-In Autoplay to play on the pair’s room (for which you need a network obviously).

In the absence of a network the two speakers will connect to one another wirelessly over an autonomous SonosNet wireless connection. (They use Auto-IP network addressing.)

The only available controls are the hard buttons on the speakers.
