I'm try to pipe the sound from a movie being played through my a Amazon Fire TV to a Sonos One speaker. Is this possible?

No, and even if you could connect it (eg using a Play:5) it would be out of sync with the picture. For Video/Audio use you need a Playbar/Playbase/Beam.
