I have a turntable and preamp connected direct to Era 300 (in the living room). If I added a second Era 300 in a completely separate room (the dining room), would I be able to stream directly to only the speaker in the dining room or would any playback have to come form both speakers?

You choose where the line in plays. So it doesn’t have to play on the speaker it is connected to.
