When I plug in my Sonos Roam, the red light on the front appears but it does not respond in any way to pressing power buttons or any other buttons.

Prior to this I was having a lot of software issues with it, it needed a factory reset at least once a week to function normally.

It’s essentially an expensive paper weight, any idea what is wrong with it? Any advice to get sonos to replaceit?

What charger are you using with the Roam and what’s its power output in Watts - (Volts x Amps)?

You need a minimum of 5V x 2A = 10W up-to 5V x 3A = 15W (USB-C). If you have these things and the issue persists try a power reset. See below..

  • Whist ‘off’ it’s charger (that’s important) with the device powered ‘on’- press and hold the rear power-button. The Roam will power itself off after approx. 5-6 seconds, but do not let go the button, keep it pressed for about another 15+ seconds until you see the front top status LED (near Sonos logo) light-up and glow white and then place the Roam back on its USB-C charger (5V/2A (10W) power output minimum charge level) and leave it until it’s fully charged (check via the web interface) - when it’s reached 100% it should then be okay after that.
  • If the Roam doesn’t start charging after 30 minutes, then try the power reset again (off its charger)… don’t use a Qi charger for the charging process.

If problems still persist after that, then it maybe best to submit a Sonos system diagnostic report from within the Sonos App, note it’s reference and contact/chat with Sonos Support Staff via this LINK and see what the Staff can perhaps suggest to help you to resolve the matter.

Thanks for the reply.

The issue isn't the charger. There's no way to submit a diagnostic the speaker is no longer showing up in the app. I think it's just a brick at this point

Perhaps just get in touch with Sonos Support Staff then via the link provided and see what they perhaps suggest.
