My move 2 has Line in disconnected displaying. How do I reconnect it to my system?

Does the Sonos Move 2 show up?

I don’t own a Move, but on previous devices, if nothing was connected to the Line in, nothing showed up. Which means the Sonos USB-C adapter needs to be plugged in, and something connected to it. Most ‘standard’ USB-C adapters are the wrong type / direction.

Yeah I have a Move 2 - I can confirm it’s line-in becomes ‘active’ when either the Sonos Audio Adapter or Combo Adaoter are attached, together with a 3.5mm audio cable linked to it (which in turn would goto the line-out on the chosen audio source device), but as soon as the cables are attached, the line-in features then show in the App, even without a connected source device (eg. MP3 player, Turntable etc.)

Hope that assists.

It’s only wifi connected and shows up on app but the volume bar is not active

Can you perhaps post a screenshot of what you’re seeing, thanks.

Meanwhile, assuming you’re still referring to the Move 2 line-in, you might perhaps also find the link below helpful:

If the volume bar is not active then check for firmware updates: if the Move missed an update (eg was powered down at the time) then the volume control will vanish. (Can’t believe that hasn’t been fixed yet).

@Sweaty sounds,

Did you check the ‘About your System’ devices list to see if its firmware needed updating and if so to go onto update it?

If it doesn’t need updating, then off it’s charger try powering the ‘Move’ off fully (5+ seconds press on rear power button) and wait 30 seconds and power it back on again.

The move 2 doesn’t appear in “my system”

It does now that it’s on charge.

Moderator Note - Removed screenshot as it contained a speaker serial number.

Well that’s the latest update @Sweaty sounds  …so is the Moves line-in and volume slider now working?

No still not working

Which Sonos audio adapter are you using - is it one of these?:

I am not using any adapter. Just wifi. All worked perfectly until 3 days ago.

Ah okay - your opening post here says your line-in on the Move 2 was not working? As discussed in the below Sonos support link;

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/play-line-in-on-your-move-2

I assumed that was in addition to your volume slider control?

What happens if you ungroup your speakers and regroup them again starting with the Move 2 as the ‘Group Co-ordinator’ - grouping all starting with the Move 2 in the slide-up room/group selector - dies that resolve the issue for you?

I just made a new group with it and it now works.
thank you
