Reports on Reddit suggest that new Roam SL speakers will not work at all out of the box because they are not compatible with the new app.

Is this true? Is Sonos actually selling brand-new bricks?

Reading the Reddit thread it sounds just like the set up issue with ikea speakers and some amp and port owners have reported. Not surprised, it’s basically on brand for Sonos ATM.

It’s pathetic that some are saying it’s just a software issue and you need to be patient 🤦

This may be as simple, and also as serious, as Sonos set up documentation not having kept up with all the things in the new app.

That would be bad enough but, according to the Reddit thread, Sonos support says it’s a technical issue not a documentation issue.
