How do you connect a Roam 2 to your TV using WiFi?
If your TV doesn’t have Bluetooth, connecting any reputable Bluetooth transmitting device to the TV should allow connection to the Roam, all you’d need to do is connect the Roam to that Bluetooth transmitter, and connect that transmitter to your Sonos Roam via Bluetooth.
Just as a note, Sonos can receive a stereo Bluetooth connection, not a 5.1 connection of any type.
Thank you, Bruce.
I have spoken to the retailer from whom I bought the speakers (Beam as well as Roam 2) and they assessed a couple of products which they thought might be suitable for me to connect the Roam 2 via Bluetooth, but in the end they decided that those products weren’t suitable.
Yesterday, I spoke to Sonos support and unfortunately I was unable to understand everything the representative said. I think he said that because I have Beam and Roam 2 speakers connected to my TV, they’re grouped and it is inevitable that I will experience some minor interruptions to the sound from the Roam 2 (no such issue with the Beam speaker, which is connected to the TV via an HDMI cable).
